Writing a research paper is a lot easier on you, the student, when you set yourself certain goals. All of this takes place before you start the research and the writing. The saying goes that if you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail. So rather than rushing in to begin writing your research paper, stop, take stock of the situation and list your goals. Here are a few possible specific goals.
A legal paper is an upper hand class writing project that needs to be highly meticulous, precise, organized and composed of advanced hits.
Make the complicated simple: Do not overflow our writing with lots of impenetrable phrases, high vocabulary and complicated sentences.
Be succinct: Short and clear is more. Eliminate unnecessary words and be to the point.
Read other cases: The more you read and think critically the opinions; you are likely to soak up more. Legal research papers are the persuasive documents and focus on convincing the reader.
Keep in mind the purpose of writing: First figure out the answer in context of your question. Secondly write the purpose underlying any patented Act. Persuade the reader that your answer is justified. Writing is an art and an influential writing only justifies a good component of the paper. It is basically the expression that works as a core.
Take ample of time: A legal writing is difficult and time consuming. Outline your draft and finalize it after going through many times.
Look through a reader’s perspective: A reader hardly cares about your efforts put in and about the sleepless nights spent. He is usually critical and is ready for making arguments. Inculcate the habit of editing your own writing. Write substantial information that makes your research paper relevant.
Revise as many times: Review the content till the time you find it sensible. Leave enough time for final revisions before handing to your professors.
Law holds truth for many irrelevancies too: Everything, all the words, the pronunciations, decisions made etc might not sound true for other fields but hold truth for law.
Introduction should be written at the end: Usually introduction, argument and conclusion are the chief aspects of any essay; however in this case, the direction of the arguments decides the introduction. So argument comes first, then the introduction and finally the conclusion.
Topic sentences: Each paragraph makes one point and should begin with a declarative sentence.
No passive voice in legal research paper: Write in active form.
Quote first and then explain: If your quotation needs explanation and interpretations, do not hesitate.
Avoid certain words like- clearly, obviously, undoubtedly etc.
Avoid transition words: Avoid vague words like furthermore, moreover, in addition, notwithstanding, sometimes etc.
Explain the points there and then: It is a signal that you are properly organized.
Read the entire research paper loudly: Once you do that everything makes sense and you will come to know about your pitfalls and hence can prepare an explanation for them relevantly.
Apart from this, keep a track of the research process while being focused at all times and always do a background check.
